"Ditch Dante & Shakespeare? Ditch no, but make room, for sure. Ditch Plato and all them Greeks?, not entirely, no, but criticize & push him/them aside for sure. Ditch Rousseau?, for sure, St Thomas?, you bet (!...), and send to hell pretty much everybody else.

Wow. Unbelievable to hear any supposedly educated, intelligent person, especially an Italian, dismiss Dante (and many others, such as Plato) as completely worthless! Preparata clearly - again odd for an Italian a has no feel for art, beauty, spirit - totally mechanistic utilitarian and sociological view of life.
